We are OTILIA.
An Indian candle house, founded in New Delhi in 2020.
We began with a simple intention: to make the world smell a little more delightful — and to give India a candle name worth knowing.
OTILIA is the work of its founder, Anchal Jindal, whose years studying abroad revealed a whole culture built around candles and fragrance — and how little of it existed back home. India was full of people who loved candles, but had no house truly known for making them. That gap — and a belief in Indian craft, made here and made well — was reason enough to begin.
What started as one person's idea is still run as a family today, and grows with everyone who has a hand in it and everyone who brings it home. Through collaborations at home and abroad, OTILIA has earned a quiet place among people who love candles — and we are only getting started.
Our mark
The O at the heart of OTILIA is a single, perfect shape. It is the form of the candle itself, and of the glow it casts. It is also the zero — the figure India gave the world through Aryabhata, the quiet foundation beneath all counting. And it is the shape of almost everything: the planet, the orbit, the turning of a day. One circle, and it belongs to everyone. Rooted in India, universal by nature — that is what we set out to hold.
What we believe
Honesty over shortcuts. Real materials, always. We would rather make things that last than things made to be used once and forgotten. And we believe Indian craft deserves a place on shelves far beyond India.
What we make is the easy part: candles, hand-poured in New Delhi and built to be kept long after the flame is gone. Who we are is everything above.
